History of Hidden Spring Farm before 1911:
On 1909Nov01, Mr Van B Nelson bought this land from his father-in-law Jesse L Clarkson, just two years after resigning as president of The Falls City Clothing Company, Louisville, due to the death of his wife and illness in his family. It was also five years and one month after Nelson had sold one of the "finest bodies of land" in Woodford County, a 588-acre stock farm located two miles West of Versailles, for a staggering price of $135/acre, well above the $104/acre average for similar lands of the era. In 1910, the retired merchant Van B Nelson's remarries. His bride, Jesse L Clarkson's daughter, Miss Lady E Clarkson.
